Blane Sloan

Blane Sloan is the owner/operator of Eagle Rock Studios. He graduated college in 1981 with a business degree. After working in the business world for a couple of years he spent the next 12 years on the road playing guitar and keyboards in several bands.  He came home to Albuquerque in 1994 and started One On One Studios in a two room office.  He set a goal of helping songwriters fulfill their dream of  recording their music by offering to play all the instruments on the demos which he recorded. In 2000 the growth of his business led to the relocation and expansion of  the studio which he renamed Eagle Rock Studios.  Blane credits his talented wife Marcella for her constant support and inspiration in this endeavor.

He has become the consumate engineer and musician capable of playing and recording any style of music.  His energetic style and relentless work ethic have enabled him to produce radio quality CD's and demos. One of Blane's goals is to ensure  musicians feel comfortable and relaxed in the studio in order to enhance their recording experience.

In the past 12 years, he has produced and recorded hundreds of CD's, demos, commercials and music for video.  What makes Blane stand out amongst many in this business is not only his experience as a road musician but also his unique ability  to work with novices as well as seasoned professionals.  Blane's ultimate goal is to see New Mexico musicians at the Grammys, CMA and other award shows.

Roger Baker

Roger first learned to play trumpet from his father, a Dixieland and Big Band trumpeter. By age twelve he was taking piano lessons. In high school he studied the Tenor Saxophone and began playing sax and guitar in dance bands, crossing the threshold to “professional.” He graduated from Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts in 1969 with a degree in Arranging and Composition. During his years at Berklee he continued to write and perform, working with such names as Patti LaBelle, Little Joe Cooke, Bobby Rydell, The Tymes, The Coasters, and Little Richard.

After graduation he taught arranging at the JDS School of Music in Boston and lead his own sixteen piece concert jazz band, the Boston Jazz Co-op. In 1972, with three other partners, he opened Hub Recording Studios where he recorded many albums, movie soundtracks, and TV shows, among them the children’s show, “Zoom.” In 1976 he opened his own studio, Baker St. Studios, where he was chief engineer and recorded such names as Tracey Chapman, Grey Sargent (of the Tony Bennett band), Jeff Stout (of the Buddy Rich band), Alan Dawson, as well as doing production work for National Public Radio. He also produced the Cable TV Series, New England Country Video Showcase. He continued to arrange music for such diverse venues as Las Vegas shows, movie soundtracks, musical comedy, and record albums from Jazz to Folk, and Country to Funk. During this time he was also a staff writer for Five Star Music and The National Music Exchange.

From 1975 to the present he has continued to perform with his wife, pop singer Rita Newport, and arranged and produced her album with full swing band and string orchestra. They now perform under the name SAVOY with a seven piece “mini Big Band.”

Now residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he continues to arrange, produce, and perform. From 1990-1995 he operated Winfield Sound Studios in Albuquerque and won many NM Music Industry Colilition Awards. In 1997-98 he conducted several of his original compositions with the Outpost Repertory Jazz Orchestra. From 2000-2003 he arranged and performed with Brazilian vocalist Silvia Lazo, adding his own special flare to Brazilian music of the last 35 years.

In his spare time works as a professional photographer specializing in photographs of musicians and music themes.
